On a Personal Note...

I really enjoy visiting the beach and my family has visited Hilton Head, South Carolina for over 20 years. This is a picture of me and my furbaby, Macy. This was her first trip to the beach shortly after I got her.

My favorites at the beach are reading or walking on the beach and riding my bike all over the island.

I enjoy working with members of the community to create a larger impact. I initiated and created this advertisement with area businesses. It appeared in a regional magazine called The Loafer.

Jonesborough Days is our biggest event of the year. In addition to all of the publicity and advertising for the event, I also help organize the event and created a new program in 2007. In 2007 a notable gospel singer came the the Main Tent the Wednesday before Jonesborough Days for a "Soul Celebration" and raised money for area churches. In 2009, the "choir-off" was held at the same location and time. It was geared to raise money for our local food pantry. We raised over $700.00 last year.

Spring/ Summer Events Calendar 2010

Here is an example of my initiative to create a professional and streamlined look for our marketing materials. I also included some general information and a map. This way we do not have to send an informational brochure and events calendar when we have information requests.

This was also the first time our theatre on Historic Main Street, Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, programs have been included in the brochure. I was recently assigned all publicity for the theatre and took on those extra responsibilities with exuberance.

I think that culture is a wonderful gem for the visitor and a great way to build and enhance the community.
