Jonesborough, Tennessee's First Tourism Website

I submitted and received a matching grant for the Town of Jonesborough. The Tennessee Department of Tourism Development grant was used for the first official tourism website in 2008. The Town of Jonesborough tourism website received a Pinnacle Award in 2010 for achievement of the http://www.historicjonesborough.com/ in 2009.

I began as the project manager supported by a committee of other town employees, a volunteer experienced in Search Engine Optimization, and Hillhouse Graphic Design, Inc.

We knew it would be a challenge since there had been efforts to create a website for more than five years and we wanted to do our website differently than other websites.

Instead of having one home page, we wanted all of the pages to have an SEO angle so that the website could be entered from any page via search engines. 

In August of 2009, our dream became a reality as we celebrated our website launch party at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center.
